The Dirty and The Broken

This song was written and recorded around 2012. I was deeply disturbed by a so called “street preacher” who posted a video about the events of his day at Venice Beach, “preaching”.

This guy was telling his story about how the homeless folks he pissed of began to surround him like zombies. He was mocking broken people. He promised 20 dollars if you pass the good person test…or some bs like that. Then he uses the ten comandments one by one to prove the man is not a good person.

This script boils my blood. Total disconnect from the person, just deliver the scripted message over and over, insert yourself in peoples space, and when they reject you because you are an obnoxious asshole, act like they rejected God. News flash, I have met street people who are much more in tune with God, themselves and reality than that clown and the multitudes like him.

Frankly, I'm more comfortable with the homeless guys than a douche bag like that.

I reflected on my time of living in my car and I thought of the folks I had met on the street while busking… this song was my response.
